Hallelujah

Hey everyone!

A friend of mine named Ashley told me, after listening to a few songs I wrote, that I should do a cover of Leonard Cohen's song Hallelujah. Jeff Buckley covered it also. I came up with something in between with a hint of my own flavor.

I read some comments from others saying what they think this song is about, and because they don't know Jesus, they haven't realized that this is ALL about God! I really hope you enjoy it and let it speak to you.

Where am I?

I am now on GospelMusicChannel.com... http://indie.gospelmusicchannel.com/backstage/artist.php?artist_id=56774

Unfortunately, I don't have much new music up at the time. What I'm hoping to do is graduate from Texas State next week! Then, I'd like to record some of my music in the next months.

I'm currently looking for a full-time job in ministry. If you know of a place looking for someone with my music/theological skills, let me know.

Anyway, I'll let ya know when some new stuff gets posted or recorded. For more info, go to my facebook or myspace. They're link is at the top right side of the page...

Leading Others in Worship of God

So I was reading an article regarding how to instill your values within a worship song list. The article was interesting enough, but what really caught my attention was a line that said, "anyone can sing worship songs..." This line, regardless of context, spoke to me. It told me that being able to sing a song, no matter how well, does not really make you special or stand out. Here's the part that got me. If anyone can sing worship songs, what makes ME special as a worship leader? Talk about conviction...

The one phrase that put all humans on the same playing field inspired me to sanctify myself, to push myself to a different level, higher, closer to the God we worship. This closeness to God, ALONE, is what enables me to lead others in worship.

Also, I will be auditioning for a job on Sunday, so I am praying that God's will be revealed to me, that I may help get it done in his kingdom.

In His Love,
Brent

Where I am playing this week...and most weeks

Hey all,

So just a head's up. I'll be leading worship at two churches this Sunday! I'll be playing at Journey UMC in Kyle, TX at 10:30 am. It's off I35 exit 215 going west and follow until you come to "Painted Horse Pavilion". That's where the service is held.

After that, I'll be playing for the Overdrive service at FUMC Smithville, TX.

If anyone is interested in coming, let me know so I can make a point to say hi. Also, if you need further directions or have any other questions at all, please ask or leave a comment.

Brent and Broken's New Blog Page!

Hey guys just a quick message! This is a new blog, but I wanted to put it up here and let you all know what's going on. This will inform you of when and where I will be leading worship (if you want to join me).

I'll also post some other stuff, ie, any new recordings, songs, churches, camps, etc.

I'll probably also put some stuff on here that the Lord has told me to share, so if I do, please pay attention to that more than anything else.

In His Love,
Brent
